So I’m here again visiting my folks at their wonderful winter home in the Baja California, Mexico. I was in need of some time away to catch up on work and take a bit of time to unwind and focus on myself. This past summer and fall has been such a whirlwind and there’s also some pretty big life changes I’m going through right now. It feels great to be here …. everything is so simplified, calm and beautiful. I’ve been neglecting my blog so much to get all my 2011 couples their disks done which I’m very near completing… YAY!! Just thought it would be nice to post a quick update and a peak at some of the photos I took today on a walk with my gorgeous mom. We came across this old run down camper and then headed down to the beach…. I love the desert landscape so much and it just seems like everywhere I look is a perfect spot for photos. I would have given anything to have a bride by that old camper posing for me but thankfully my mom was nice enough to step in for a few quick ones. Hoping to be back on track with regular posts soon and I’m completely Jacked to have another busy year lined up with 25 more amazing couples!!

Chelsea & Dave ❉ Calgary Wedding

Chelsea and Dave’s wedding took place on October 8th …… it was my last wedding within Canada of 2011 and WOW what an amazing way to Whine Down my wedding season. I Met Chelsea almost 2 years ago and instantly adored her laid back and care free attitude and as soon as I met Dave the day of their engagement photos I couldn’t get over how cute they were together and how big they made each other smile. The day of their wedding they both just had the hugest perma grin on the whole time. We did photos down around Eau Claire Market and had a ton of fun with the rubber boots Chelsea and the bridesmaids had brought along in case it started to rain. This couple keeps some pretty darn fun company and I really don’t think I stopped laughing the entire time during photos. The Ceremony was held at the Italian Club ….. such a great venue and unreal food. Yet again I had my buddy Drew of DRG photography helping out and also rocking out his ridiculously AWESOME photo booth throughout the night. So many crazy memories were made in that 10′ x 10′ area. Chelsea and Dave …. no words can describe how awesome you two are and how much fun I had being apart of your wedding. Thank you SO SO much for choosing me as your photographer….. HUGS!!

Sarah & Graham ❉ Calgary Wedding

Sarah and Graham’s wedding took place on October 1st ….. a beautiful ceremony at the Lantern Community Church. I couldn’t get over how cool this church was….. full of wonderful character and quirkiness just like the couple. I was so excited for Sarah and Graham’s wedding since they had put so much thought into their engagement session I knew that there would be no shortage of awesomeness for their big day. Since it was supposed to rain we had a couple indoor locations planned for photos. First of a record shop in Inglewood which made for some of my all time favourite photos of my entire wedding season. We were a little worried about being denied access but who could ever say no to such a beautiful bride. Then it was off to a farmers market where we hit up a candy shop and some really cool wall paintings. The rain did hold off for most of the day but it was still quite chilly out ….. high fives to all the girls for sticking out the cold for the outdoor photos. Sarah’s black leather coat did make for a pretty sweet accessory too… ROCKER BRIDE!

The reception was SO cute!! Full of fresh colours and so many cute details. The couple is super keen on social media so they even had little birdies on the cake for a twitter salute. There was so much love listening to all the speeches and hearing so many great memories shared by their friends and families. Drew of DRG Photography was with me again helping out and we had the pleasure of sitting at the “Rowdy Table” So much fun!! This crowd definitely knew how the party ….. one of the hottest dance floors I’ve ever seen at at wedding which of course made for wicked photos. Sarah and Graham …. you guys are just amazing!! Your story of long distance romance should almost be a movie. I had a blast with you guys and I can’t say enough how happy I am that you had chosen me as your wedding photographer… much love and enjoy the preview!!

Claudette & Nigel ❉ Calgary Wedding

Claudette and Nigel were married on September 24th …. perfect weather, laid back couple and a group of warm and welcoming friends and family, the whole day was just fabulous!! Everything took place at the Lougheed house downtown. This was my first time shooting there and I just adored this venue…. a beautiful old historical house surrounded by gardens. The flowers were still all in bloom too…. such a lovely romantic setting. I was with the girls getting ready at a hotel down town and Claudette was so chill, happy and all cute drinking her mimosas done up in curlers… and my second shooter for the day (Drew @ DRG Photography) was off hanging with the boys. Massive thanks to him for yet again rocking out another wedding with me. The ceremony was held outside then after an hour or so for photos we headed into the house for the reception. Such emotional speeches I had a really hard time not tearing up behind my camera …. I just adore this couple so much and seeing their friends and family go one about how amazing the 2 of them are was so beautiful. One of my favourite parts of the day was seeing Claudette’s hair go from a side bun, on to a side ponytail then all wild and crazy down for the dancing …. she just made one stunningly beautiful bride and her hair ended up matching and representing each part of the wedding.

Claudette and Nigel thank you again SO SO much for including me in your wonderful day and for all the support you’ve given me as well. You’ve both pimped me out so much and I appreciate it beyond words. Big HUGS to both of you and Enjoy your preview!! :)

Amelie & Jonathan ❉ Calgary Engagement

For 2011 I was over the moon happy to have booked 2 destination weddings ….. Amelie and Jonathan are one of the 2 fabulous couples. Their wedding is taking place in Cuba in just a matter of weeks. Originally they weren’t going to do an engagement session so I was super excited when they changed their minds and came into Calgary for a shoot which gave me a chance to get to know them a lil’ before the wedding. Such an amazing couple ….. they pretty much look like supermodels together, they’re both funny and playful and obviously so in love with each other…. I really didn’t think I could be more excited for Cuba but after meeting them that excitement jumped to a whole other level. Oh and just as a bonus to make me not sleep at night even more …. they’ve rented a red antique vehicle to use for the photos (DROOL). Amy and Jon …. you two are just the bees knees and I’m counting down the days to meet you both again SOON! We are going to have such an incredible time!!

Tana & Ben ❉ Edmonton Wedding

Tana and Ben’s ultra gorgeous wedding took place on September 17th in Vegreville…. a small town just outside of Edmonton. I’ve known Ben for a couple years but I had just met Tana the day of the wedding. I walked into the hotel room and there sat this absolutely gorgeous girl getting her make up done …. by the time she was dressed and ready to go she looked like a totally fairytale bride. When Ben saw her for the first time walking down the aisle he let out a big “WOW” loud enough for the whole church to hear. Definitely one of the cutest moments I have witnessed this entire wedding season. For photos we were able to use the beautiful gardens of a monastery in another small town about 15 minutes away. Ben and Tana looked amazing together and they were so cute and playful ….. Tana had left me a message on my Facebook wall about their photo experience shortly after their honeymoon and I have to share it.

Tana: “So I’m relaxing with Ben on our honeymoon…thinking about our wonderful wedding photos…then it hits me…I climbed up a rock wall in my wedding dress for a picture! My beautiful dress that I was worried to get a wrinkle in it before! Just shows how much I TRUSTED you and how TALENTED you are to line up a shot! Much love Cassie!!! xoxo…p.s. That was my first time rock climbing! hahahah” —- SWOON!!

The reception was beautifully decorated by one of Tana’s close friends Stacey who is just starting up a wedding planning business JoyFoley Weddings. They had a wonderful spread of Ukrainian grub and some fantastic specially cocktails. A crazy awesome party that I definitely enjoyed since the couple put me up in a hotel for the night. Ben and Tana Thank you SO SO much for having me as your wedding photographer …. I had such an incredible time with you two and of course your crazy bridal party. Kelsey & Jesse ❉ Calgary Engagement

When I first met with Kelsey and Jesse at Starbucks I was just floored at the cuteness of their matching braces. They had both gotten them put on for the wedding and were hoping to do their e-session after they were removed …. well lucky me the dentist postponed the removal so I got my wish of shooting their session with the braces. Freaking adorable ….. these two were so cute and playful and made my job ridiculously easy. Kelsey even brought along a few cute props she scored from Etsy. I had so much fun ripping around Inglewood with them and cannot wait for their wedding in October. Enjoy the preview Kelsey and Jesse …. GROUP HUG!! :P

Patrice & Dave ❉ Red Deer Wedding

Patrice and Dave’s wedding took place on September 10th …. an absolutely gorgeous day in Red Deer. When I first met this couple last winter we all hit it off right away … ending up at a pub after their engagement session sharing a couple drinks and a ton of laughs. They are both such super sweet and kind people and as you’ll see by their photos they look insanely cute together. The formals took place on a beautiful farm not too far away from the reception venue and I also had the chance to pull the couple outside just after dinner to catch the sunset which are my faves of the whole day….. so warm and romantic. Such an amazing day…. Patrice and Dave, I adore you two and I’m SO happy to have been chosen as your wedding photographer. Enjoy the preview…. HUGS!!

Jamie & Nick ❉ Calgary Engagement

Jamie and Nick’s engagement session was spent ripping around the beautiful Silver Springs Golf and Country Club where the two of them will be married this upcoming summer. It’s always so fun when a hobby a couple booth shares can be incorporated into the photos. It was a gorgeous evening with perfect light and they both looked flipping adorable together in their golfing attire. I felt a little bad at the time for sending them into a field full of thistles …. but they happily obliged and I absolutely love the image that was produced….. Oh how I love my couples and what they do for me LOL. Thanks again for that Jamie and Nick …. I had great time with you guys and I hope you enjoy your preview. Super excited to be heading back to the course again for your wedding :)

Kristin & John ❉ Saskatoon Wedding

Another September long weekend wedding ….Kristin and John were married on September 2nd. I was so honoured that they decided to fly me into Saskatoon …… as soon as we had met last winter I knew that were were going to have crazy amounts of fun. This couple is absolutely adorable together, super funny and wanted to give me as much time as possible on the big day for photos. They decided to do photos before hand with a first look at the University ….. Kristin is not usually one to wear makeup (as she is just naturally cute :P) so to see John’s reaction on how absolutely stunning she looked was just priceless. We then went into one of the coolest classrooms I have ever seen “The Airplane Room” …. there’s a really cool story behind all the paper airplanes stuck in the roof if you care to google it. Such a great place and it suited the couples’s quirkiness perfectly. We then popped over to a wonderful park to take a few photos with some close friends and then I literally had 2 full hours with just the 2 of them. We had a little snack and then took a ton more ultra cute photos in the park’s playground and then on a riverside path. When it was time for the ceremony at the Delta Bessborough we had a little bit of time in the room which gave me the opportunity to do a specific photo I’ve been wanting to do for a while…. bride and groom jumping on a bed.

The very intimate Ceremony was held in the reception room since it had started to rain. So crazy that the rain had held off all morning for our photos since it was forecasted to be raining all day. A little champagne to celebrate afterwards then everyone sat down for dinner and OMG was the food ever amazing …. like last meal type amazing!! The tables were so freaking cute too…. Kristin and John own a landscaping business so they had made all the wooden candle holders and place card holders… very ETSY worthy indeed.
